No fair resetting the mpg tracker while you’re coasting downhill!

Just kidding, though I did do that once in a Chevy Express van while coming back to my office from Evergreen. It was about 20 miles all downhill. 30+ mpg! Then I had to stop at a light, and accelerating gently toward the office for 1 mile dropped it to something like 23.

Damn, I’m only getting like 18 mpg in my 335xi but that’s mostly because I only get 2 miles of highway driving per day. I take the highway for that much of my commute to work but because of the funkiness of the ramps and other such nonsense I take surface streets home.

On the plus side, my mileage hasn’t gotten any worse now that I have a bunch of engine mods and an ECU tune running more boost, so I got like +70 hp for no mileage penalty.
